I knew Raleigh, North Carolina has a burgeoning craft brewery scene. However, I didn’t realize just how much delicious craft beer is being brewed in the Triangle area of the state. Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas comprise what is referred to as “The Triangle.” There are 40 craft breweries in the region and a thriving craft beer community.

Raleigh, North Carolina has been known as the Oak City for generations. It has gained notoriety in recent years as the capital of the Beer State of the South. From 2010 until the end of 2017, the number of craft breweries in the state soared from 45 to 245. The Triangle area alone, Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, boasts 40 craft breweries. With so much brewing, Raleigh and its surrounding areas have become a craft brew destination.
